Saving for Disney - Gift Card Tip
Counting down the days until your next Disney trip? Same!
I wanted to share this little tip I started doing about 3 months before my upcoming trip to squirrel away money for Disney.
I simply started to buy a Disney gift card every weekend while grocery shopping at Safeway. But don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be from Safeway! You can get Disney gift cards almost anywhere.
If you are using Safeway or any other local store, be sure to check out the available reward programs. I was able to earn 4x the points on gift cards I purchased.
Those rewards could then be redeemed for money off my grocery bill! Woot Woot!
Once you have your gift card, head over to Disneygiftcard.com and create an account. Here you will be able to add up to 6 gift cards. Once you have them added to your account you will be able to check your balances, transfer balances and see your transactions.
IMPORTANT: This is not a mobile wallet and should not be considered as such. Be sure to keep your physical and digital Disney Gift Cards with you as they will be required to make any purchases. - disneygiftcard.com
If I purchase at a $25 gift card every week for the 12 weeks before my trip I will be able to save at least $300. Even better I will be collecting store points and saving money on my grocery bills while i’m at it!
To sum it up:
Collect gift cards
Take advantage of reward and point programs
Keep track of your cards with disneygiftcard.com
Thank yourself later!
